I was so excited when baby girl A's mom contacted me to see if I was available to take her newborn portraits. One of the reasons I was so excited is because I knew she was excited too - she contacted me from her hospital bed after having her little girl earlier that day!
On the day of her first ever photography session, baby A was 8 days old. Mom kept her awake for a couple of hours before I arrived and was finishing up a feeding while I set up - this usually makes for a nice, sleepy baby. Usually... Apparently life was just too interesting for A to sleep, and that's perfectly ok! I hung out for ~3 hours and we shot when she was ready.
That's the best thing about a newborn portrait session, no one's in a rush! If baby needs an extra feeding - no problem. If baby needs a little alone time with mommy, no problem!
We also took advantage of the beautiful, Pensacola day and took some family portraits outside. We even managed to sneak in a few with big sister, Charlotte who wasn't quite sure how she felt about this little usurper, I mean sister.
