This past summer, at a business meeting for local, female small business owners, I met another photographer. After meeting her, she added me to a local photographer’s Facebook group that I was unaware of (as opposed to the other 5 local groups I was in). I enjoyed meeting this other photographer and appreciated being added to the group, but, truth be told, I didn’t expect much. If you know photographers at all, you know that many times, we don’t exactly work and play well with other photographers. There are a LOT of photographers out there and the perceived competition tends to make us less likely to befriend, collaborate with, and help each other. Well, this new group was like a breath of fresh air. I joined a group who not only HELP each other, but collaborate together and plan fun, styled sessions TOGETHER!
Thanks to being added to this group, I was invited to take part in a multi-photographer styled bridal session. Grace, our bride, was chosen in part because she missed out on having great photography at her wedding. In order to be a part of the portrait session, all each of us had to do was contribute items. It was a blast!
Coldwater Gardens in Milton, FL were gracious enough to allow us to use their beautiful property for the session. If you’ve never been, you really MUST go and check them out. They also have awesome “glamping” tents that I’m definitely taking my family to this summer.
Grace’s hair and make-up were taken care of the amazing Jessica with Glamorous by Jessica who’s also a photographer herself.
