the best moment of my life - holding my son for the 1st time
Who am I?
I'm Amanda! I started Finding Beauty in the Ordinary Photography in 2010 as a way to sell some of my nature and landscape photography. By mid-2011, I was photographing children and families part-time while still holding down a full-time job as a condo rental manager in Orange Beach. After a couple of years as a "weekend warrior" photographer, I left my 9-5 and took my photography business full-time. Four years have passed since I took that leap and I couldn't be more pleased with the direction my little business has taken! I truly love what I do! Photographing families and newborns continually brings me joy, and I cannot wait to see what the next 4 years brings!
A little more about me: I'm a wife and mother of 3. I grew up in North Alabama, but I've lived on the Alabama and Florida gulf coast since early 2005. I have a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management with a minor in Business from Auburn University (WAR EAGLE). In my free time (haha, what's that?) you will find me enjoying the great outdoors, spending time with my family or with members of the local Mom's Club, or honing my photography skills - practicing, training, and learning.
What do I love?
Photography! (can't you tell) Anything involving being on, in, or near the water Auburn football Travel Singing along to hits of the 200s or 90s Pretty much all animals Drowsy Poet coffee Capturing Light and "stolen moments"
Portrait Sessions that include high resolution digital images are delivered via digital download unless otherwise discussed.

Why's it called "Finding Beauty in the Ordinary Photography"?
What’s in a name? Some of my favorite things to photograph have always been everyday things – new blueberries popping up in the spring, my niece sitting in her inner tube at the water’s edge, a beautiful landscape. So, when I took the leap and started my own photography business, I knew that I wanted to showcase my love of finding the beauty in ordinary, every day life.
I love striking, black and white photography, portraits with a lot of light, and tend to lean towards a more natural posing style. I think that photographs should tell a story and evoke a memory without a lot of special effects and editing. I want my clients to be the main focus of their photos, and I pride myself on being able to catch the “stolen" moments as well.
