![]() I had so much fun with this couple! It was H-O-T-T HOT that day so we condensed what's usually a 90 minute portrait session into a less than 60 minute session. But I really think we ended up with some great photos! The ladies are always the easier clients for these types of sessions - they are the ones who searched for the perfect photographer, met with me, and tediously roamed the mall for the perfect outfit. The guys on the other hand are in clothes they wouldn't normally wear and now there's some crazy, talkative woman they've never met asking them to hold, and kiss, and otherwise love on their fiancee. Wait, wait, the groom will realize - you mean I want him to spend an hour getting kissed, softly leaned on, dropping their future bride into a beautiful dip, etc, etc? Oh yeah, once they realize all of this is involved, they're usually pretty happy to oblige my wishes. Jordan and Kayla are such a sweet, young couple! They clearly adore each other and yet there's also the ease that only comes with spending years with the one you love. They also have a handsome little man, Atticus who graced us with his presence for the 1st 20 minutes or so of our session. Plaza Ferdinand offered us beautiful, old oak trees, park benches, and fountain to mix up the downtown Pensacola Engagement Session Kayla was hoping for.

Part of the Boot Camp in DC was working on Bridal portraits. We ended up being quite rushed, but I'm still very pleased with what I ended up with.
![]() Matthew's mom contacted me for an impromptu Senior Portrait Session because Matthew had been sent home with his cap and gown several days before his Tate High Graduation. It worked out wonderfully! Mom had a bunch of ideas and we ended up with some great portraits that really showed the world who her son really is! One of the 1st things I said to Matthew upon meeting him was that as soon as I got home I was going to show my husband that men really CAN smile with their teeth showing! This young man had one of the best and most genuine smiles I've ever been lucky enough to be graced with! I'm a tall gal. I've never had to use a ladder or step stool like many other female photographers. But, Matthew was tall - 6'6"! I actually had to stand on top of a picnic table to get the cap & gown shot on the right! ![]() Though Matthew has a smile that I'm sure will steal a few hearts over the years, he also had a great "mean mug." This ended up being one of my favorite shots of the day! Go Tate "Aggies!" Tuesday evening I had the pleasure of helping out a fellow Savvy Sister by photographing her merchandise for her local business. Blue Prints of the Coast specialize in "Apparel & goods for Gulf Coast locals. Each item is custom designed to celebrate life on the Gulf Coast making every item unique." The owner, Kate Hendrickson, was a dream to work with, and she talked several of her friends into coming down to Seville to model for the shoot. She and I both agreed that a company specializing in Pensacola clothing needed an obvious Pensacola locale for the backdrop.
What's the main rule for any photographer shooting on location? You can't be afraid to get a little bit run over! For some of these shots, I shot from the middle of the road in order to get the light just right. I'm happy to report we all went home unscathed! |
