![]() If you keep up with me at all, you may notice I've been blogging and posting less over the past 2 months. Well, there have been big changes in the Owens household! Our son decided to surprise us about 3 1/2 weeks early! Harrison Jeffery Owens was born on May 3, 2014 and our life hasn't been the same since! But what, you may ask, does this mean for you? Well, it means I've finally decided to take the leap into Newborn Photography! I LOVE babies; I always have, and I've been toying with the idea of getting into newborn photography for about 2 years. But newborn photography is a whole different ball game from Senior Portraits and Weddings! Newborns need to be photographed between 5 & 14 days of age - this is when they are the sleepiest and therefore easiest to pose. This means newborn sessions aren't actually scheduled until mom or dad send me a text or call and let me know their bundle of joy has arrived. Well, I'm happy to say that my posing bag is in the mail, the backdrop stand is ready, and I've been collecting props, blankets, and wraps for months. I can't WAIT to show everything off! Sometime within the next week or two, I'll be putting out a "Newborn Model Call" looking for a select few mommas due within the next 8-10 weeks who are willing to invite me into their home within 2 weeks of baby's arrival to photograph their new bundle of joy! For allowing me the opportunity to build my portfolio, they will receive 5 free digital images of their choice from the session as well as 1- 11x14 print of their choosing. So, stick around and be sure to keep an eye out for the Newborn Model Call coming in the next few days!
