The Hill family, from Illinois, contacted me back in September to set up a family portrait session for their family vacation this past December. Now, I know what you're thinking, a December family portrait session on Pensacola Beach might be a bit chilly. Not this December! Most days had highs in the mid to upper 60°s with beautiful sunsets. In fact, every single family portrait session I photographed this past fall was PERFECT weather! All except for the day the Hill's family pictures were scheduled. That day turned out to have a high around 50° with winds from 20 - 30 miles per hour. And, that was the only day they had for their pictures. Of course. But, we persever Mom had a color scheme and outfits all planned out - chilly weather and winds be damned. See, these pictures weren't JUST family photos - they were also to be Engagment/ Save the Date announcements! I personally showed up for this session in leggings, boots, a tank top, a sweater, and a jacket - it was THAT cold with the wind chill. When I saw these 3 adorable kiddos hop out of their car and shiver at the blast of cold wind, I knew I needed a plan! (Honestly, with multiple children, you always need a plan.) Before we walked out onto the windy beach, while we were still in the shelter of the boardwalk, I pulled the Hill kids aside and told them this - If they would be super cooperative and do exactly what their mother and I asked of them, I PROMISED their photo session would be over in 10 minutes! Oh man, that definitely got their attention. These kids were FANTASTIC! They did everything asked of them. And I kept my promise, 20 awesome shots, and 10 minutes later, we called this session a wrap and went back to our warm cars.

It’s been a while since I’ve taken the time to show off some the awesome photography products that we carry. Plus, since I’ve added a few more goodies, what better way to introduce them than to show them off! Since it is the Christmas season, I am going to start off with these super cute, and affordable, custom Christmas ornaments. On the left is a bamboo ornament that comes in your choice of 13 sizes & shapes (the one show is 4″x2.5″). They’re ~1/4″ thick and show the beautiful, natural grain of the bamboo through the image. On the right is a sweet metal ornament that can be ordered in the design shown or a snowflake. These ornaments not only look lovely on your own tree, they make a fantastic gift for grandparents! Next up is an item I’ve been proudly using for 2 months now: a custom cell phone case. What a great way to show off your babies – without having to even unlock your phone screen. Cases are black rubber grip with interchangeable photo inserts. These aren’t sold as “protective cases” like Otterbox, Lifeproof, etc – BUT, my toddler has dropped and thrown my phone multiple times on quite a few different surfaces, and so far, no damage has occurred to my Samsung S6. Cases are available for the Samsung Galaxy S6, iPad Mini, and iPhones 4, 5, 6, & 6 Plus. The base order includes 1 case and 1 insert – additional inserts can be added to your order or ordered at a later date. The gorgeous picture above is my 2nd favorite new product: the 3″x3″ accordion mini album. This beautiful, sturdy mini album comes with your choice of up to 10 customizable panels and your choice of cover: fabric, leathers, suede, or (my personal fave) custom photo. Accordion Mini albums come in sets of 3 boxed up in a little manilla colored box – PERFECT for grandparent gifts (can you not just picture grandma whipping this out of her purse to show off to everyone) or as a display in mom or dad’s office! Next up, you can NEVER go wrong with a custom, 1 1/2″ gallery wrap canvas! It’s classic, it’s sturdy, and you don’t even need a frame. Each gallery wrap canvas is finished with saw-tooth hangers and corner bumpers. I’ll wrap up with something many of us are knee deep in this time of year – Christmas cards. I am proud to offer, high quality, customized Press-Printed & Foil Pressed greeting cards in a variety of sizes. Custom designed cards are perfect for new baby announcements, Birthday invitations, Graduation announcements, Christmas cards, etc.
So, now you’ve seen the beautiful, high quality, and affordable products we carry for our clients. But, just because you don’t see it here doesn’t mean we can’t get it. So, if there’s ever something special that you have in mind, just ask! ![]() This past Tuesday, I had the distinct pleasure to photograph Lauren & Randy's Engagement Portrait Session. Lauren actually WON this Engagement Session at the October 2013 Pensacola Wedding Boot Camp, and we've just been waiting on the weather to warm up enough for a beautiful spring session. Lauren and Randy have been together several years and are tying the knot this July in Crestview, FL. They planned their July nuptials to coincide with Comic Con in San Diego where they plan on spending their honeymoon. They were a great couple to spend the afternoon with and you can't help but see how much they care for each other! ![]() I was so excited when Heather and Jeremy contacted me about being their wedding photographer! They seemed like such a fun, laid back couple and you could just feel the love between them. When I asked if they'd had an Engagement Session already, they looked surprised and said that they hadn't. I immediately suggested we get one on the books for them. Since they're having a November wedding, we decided a summer Engagement Session would be the way to go. Jeremy had originally wanted to have their wedding in a downtown Pensacola park, but due to the time of the year, that wasn't going to work. So we shot their Engagement portraits in one instead! Jeremy's mom was also wonderful enough to keep an eye on their kiddos so that we could get some pictures of the whole family, too! ![]() Caren and Nick are such a sweet couple and we had a great Engagement Session at Fort Pickens on Pensacola Beach. With all the rain we've been getting this summer, we lucked out with a beautiful blue sky, soft puffy clouds, and a light sea breeze. These two came into the session with a very trusting spirit and were rewarded with some truly beautiful portraits. Due to the fact that their October wedding will be on the beach in Navarre, Caren opted for a different feel for the Engagement Session. We agreed that the beautiful brick structure and wide vistas would provide us with beautiful images. ![]() I had so much fun with this couple! It was H-O-T-T HOT that day so we condensed what's usually a 90 minute portrait session into a less than 60 minute session. But I really think we ended up with some great photos! The ladies are always the easier clients for these types of sessions - they are the ones who searched for the perfect photographer, met with me, and tediously roamed the mall for the perfect outfit. The guys on the other hand are in clothes they wouldn't normally wear and now there's some crazy, talkative woman they've never met asking them to hold, and kiss, and otherwise love on their fiancee. Wait, wait, the groom will realize - you mean I want him to spend an hour getting kissed, softly leaned on, dropping their future bride into a beautiful dip, etc, etc? Oh yeah, once they realize all of this is involved, they're usually pretty happy to oblige my wishes. Jordan and Kayla are such a sweet, young couple! They clearly adore each other and yet there's also the ease that only comes with spending years with the one you love. They also have a handsome little man, Atticus who graced us with his presence for the 1st 20 minutes or so of our session. Plaza Ferdinand offered us beautiful, old oak trees, park benches, and fountain to mix up the downtown Pensacola Engagement Session Kayla was hoping for. |
