Referral Program | Pensacola Photography

1/31/2019

I've been wanting to revamp my current Portrait Referral Program for quite some time, but I wasn't sure exactly what to offer. I wanted a new program that really reflects what my clients are looking for and would appreciate. Let's be honest, if the referral credit isn't worth it, you're not going to remember to make sure your friend lets me know YOU sent them my way.
The two most important things I want the updated referral program to do are
1.  benefit clients no matter what type of session they booked including birth photography and Watch Me Grow Baby Plans
2. benefit my local Pensacola, Orange Beach, etc clients as well as my awesome vacation booking clients
I think this system will benefit everyone!
Picture
So, without further ado, my new and improved Client Referral Program:
  • You receive 1 credit for every client you refer who books a Family, Newborn, or Maternity Portrait session or Christmas Mini session
  • You receive 1 credit for each repeat session YOU book (including Christmas Mini sessions)
  • You receive 2 credits for every client you refer who books a Watch Me Grow Baby Plan or Birth Story Photography
3 credits = 1 free 30 minute Mini Session with your choice of 5 digital images and print release (session must take place in Perdido Key or Southwest Pensacola)
5 credits = 1 free full Family, Newborn, or Maternity session of your choice (all normal session perks included)
The fine print:
*Your referral must be a new client of Finding Beauty in the Ordinary Photography and they must let me know that YOU referred them.
**Credits can accumulate over multiple years.
***You can choose to turn in your 5 credits into a gift card that you can give to someone. (Not available for 3 credit mini sessions.)

It’s been a while since I’ve taken the time to show off some the awesome photography products that we carry. Plus, since I’ve added a few more goodies, what better way to introduce them than to show them off!
Picture

Since it is the Christmas season, I am going to start off with these super cute, and affordable, custom Christmas ornaments. On the left is a bamboo ornament that comes in your choice of 13 sizes & shapes (the one show is 4″x2.5″). They’re ~1/4″ thick and show the beautiful, natural grain of the bamboo through the image. On the right is a sweet metal ornament that can be ordered in the design shown or a snowflake.
These ornaments not only look lovely on your own tree, they make a fantastic gift for grandparents!
Next up is an item I’ve been proudly using for 2 months now: a custom cell phone case.
Picture
What a great way to show off your babies – without having to even unlock your phone screen.
Cases are black rubber grip with interchangeable photo inserts. These aren’t sold as “protective cases” like Otterbox, Lifeproof, etc – BUT, my toddler has dropped and thrown my phone multiple times on quite a few different surfaces, and so far, no damage has occurred to my Samsung S6.
Cases are available for the Samsung Galaxy S6, iPad Mini, and  iPhones 4, 5, 6, & 6 Plus.
The base order includes 1 case and 1 insert – additional inserts can be added to your order or ordered at a later date.

The gorgeous picture above is my 2nd favorite new product: the 3″x3″ accordion mini album. This beautiful, sturdy mini album comes with your choice of up to 10 customizable panels and your choice of cover: fabric, leathers, suede, or (my personal fave) custom photo. Accordion Mini albums come in sets of 3 boxed up in a little manilla colored box – PERFECT for grandparent gifts (can you not just picture grandma whipping this out of her purse to show off to everyone) or as a display in mom or dad’s office!

Next up, you can NEVER go wrong with a custom, 1 1/2″ gallery wrap canvas! It’s classic, it’s sturdy, and you don’t even need a frame.
Picture
Each gallery wrap canvas is finished with saw-tooth hangers and corner bumpers.

I’ll wrap up with something many of us are knee deep in this time of year – Christmas cards.
I am proud to offer, high quality, customized Press-Printed & Foil Pressed greeting cards in a variety of sizes.

Custom designed cards are perfect for new baby announcements, Birthday invitations, Graduation announcements, Christmas cards, etc.
So, now you’ve seen the beautiful, high quality, and affordable products we carry for our clients. But, just because you don’t see it here doesn’t mean we can’t get it. So, if there’s ever something special that you have in mind, just ask!

Ian H | Pensacola Beach Senior Portrait Session

I love photographing guys, especially teenage guys, especially for high school senior portraits for guys.  You'd be surprised at how many photographers prefer photographing teen girls over teen guys.  Don't get me wrong, I love senior portrait sessions for teenage girls as well - they'll try every pose I want (plus a few poses they want) in multiple, fun outfits at several locations.  But, I enjoy photographing men.  I love engaging them and getting them to loosen up and relax.  If you've ever had a photo session with me you've heard me say, "You may be laughing at me, but I guarantee I'll get you to laugh."  And it's true, I haven't failed yet!
The other fun thing about photographing teenage guys is most times they're TOTALLY on board with a fast-paced session AND they'll pose EXACTLY like I want.  Fast paced portrait sessions are fun and they keep me sharp - they require me to think on my feet and be constantly moving.  If I slow down, the guy gets bored.  If you let guys get bored, you've lost them.
Ian was the typical teenage guy having his high school Senior Portraits made.  He was at Pensacola Beach on a Sunday evening in August because that's where his mom told him to be.  Like most guys, Ian started the session a bit shy, but by the end, he trusted me to get great pictures.  And that shot on the bottom in the middle - 2 college chicks in bikinis walked behind me at that moment.  :)

I was lucky enough to get to shoot this young man's high school senior portrait session while on vacation in Missouri this past week.  Photographing any man, young or old is always interesting - they're either NOT into having their pictures taken or they're totally laid back and fun.  Luckily for me, Cody was one of the later - so easy to work with that it made my job easy!

Matthew's mom contacted me for an impromptu Senior Portrait Session because Matthew had been sent home with his cap and gown several days before his Tate High Graduation.  It worked out wonderfully!  Mom had a bunch of ideas and we ended up with some great portraits that really showed the world who her son really is!

One of the 1st things I said to Matthew upon meeting him was that as soon as I got home I was going to show my husband that men really CAN smile with their teeth showing!  This young man had one of the best and most genuine smiles I've ever been lucky enough to be graced with!

I'm a tall gal.  I've never had to use a ladder or step stool like many other female photographers.  But, Matthew was tall - 6'6"!  I actually had to stand on top of a picnic table to get the cap & gown shot on the right!

Though Matthew has a smile that I'm sure will steal a few hearts over the years, he also had a great "mean mug."  This ended up being one of my favorite shots of the day!  Go Tate "Aggies!"

I was lucky enough to get to do a Senior Portrait Session this past Saturday!

I met with "mom" about mid-March where we went over what the package included and explained my contract.  She asked me for location ideas and I suggested Bartram Park in downtown Pensacola and the beach.  I also told her that if there was somewhere special her daughter ("C") wanted pictures to let me know and I'd do my best to accommodate.  She asked if I'd be willing to meet her and C one day after school so C would be more comfortable with me day of.  I was thrilled!  I always find shoots are SO much less awkward if I get to meet my subject(s) beforehand.

C is a teenager in her Senior year of high school AND she has a job, so it took some serious schedule coordinating to find a time when we were all available to meet.  We ended up having to meet the day before her scheduled portrait session.  EEK!

I met mom and C and brought them my "Pre-Portrait Session Info Sheet."  This is an information packed sheet that I give to anyone having a solo or family session.  It has suggestions on what to wear, makeup amounts, and suggested items to bring along to the session.  I went over the sheet and asked C if she had any questions or if there was anything special she had in mind.  Well C wanted a few "country" style photos.

Picture
After finding out what clothes she was planning on and suggesting she bring a 3rd outfit just in case.  I racked my brain trying to figure out where I could round up a country fence and open field.  I decided I could probably use a grassy park to portray an open field.  Don't you love how a good photographer can trick your eye?

Day of, I headed downtown towards our meeting spot about an hour early to grab Starbucks and to scout out a vacant lot and "something country."

After driving around downtown for 30 minutes, I'm now armed with the locations of 2, large, uncut fields with fantastic live oaks, a white picket fence, a black rout iron fence, a kelly green picket fence, a cool brick red fence, and a COUNTRY picket fence!  I have mentally filed away the specific locations of each of these great backdrops for future sessions!

The shoot went great, C is/was beautiful, and she loved not only the country fence, but the porch and swing I found.

Oh, and what about the beach part?  The bridge was closed due to multiple accidents.  We're going one evening next week to shoot at the pier.

If it was easy it wouldn't  be as fun right?

And those sure are pretty fences!
