Rainbow Maternity Photography Project - Year 5 | Pensacola Maternity Photographer

A Rainbow baby — a baby born after the loss of a baby due to miscarriage, infant loss, stillbirth, or neonatal death —is like a rainbow at the end of a storm.

It's that time of year, and once again, I am calling for models...

I am looking for pregnant mamas due with their Rainbow Baby between October and late December AND several moms with their Rainbow Baby of 12 months or younger. Pictures from this session are used each year to spread awareness during Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month (October). This year will be my 5th year holding this inspiring collaboration and I'd be so excited for this year to have the biggest group of moms yet.

This year's session will take place at a location in Gulf Breeze, Florida proper the last weekend of September. I'd love to have you join me!

In October 1988, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed October as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, stating: “When a child loses his parent, they are called an orphan. When a spouse loses his or her partner, they are called a widow or widower. When parents lose their child, there isn’t a word to describe them. This month recognizes the loss so many parents experience across the United States and around the world. It is also meant to inform and provide resources for parents who have lost children due to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, stillbirths, birth defects, SIDS, and other causes.”

For mothers expecting a rainbow baby, the pregnancy journey is often full of mixed emotions: the joy of a new life intertwined with the memories of a past loss. I hope that capturing this journey through a maternity photography session with other mothers who have walked the same path is both a celebration and a tribute to their resilience, love, and hope. Each year, in late summer, I put out a model call unlike any other - one looking for mothers who have experienced pain and come out the other side looking at a rainbow. Each September, I meet up with however many women pregnant with their rainbow babies and mothers with their infant rainbow babies who answer my call for a group “Rainbow Maternity and Mama and Baby” Photography session in the Pensacola, Florida area.

*Participants will be required to sign a Model Release. If chosen, you will be contacted via email & text. You will be provided a gown (or skirt and top combo) from my Client Closet to wear for the session (sizes 2 - 24+), and as a thank you for your time, you will receive several solo images of yourself with a print release.
